Liepke, Gust K. (8 Dec 1883 – 26 Jan 1978)
Gust K. Liepke, age 94, of 819 North Paul Avenue, Owen, passed away on Thursday,
January 26, 1978 at 9:00 p.m. in the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, where he had
resided for the past year.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 1978 at St.
John’s Lutheran Church in Withee, with the Rev. Douglas Groenewold, pastor of
…(some words were unreadable), officiating.. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery,
Withee.
Mr. Liepke was born on December 8(?), 1883 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In 1905 he
moved to Seneca, South Dakota, and there on December 10, 1914 he married Lucille
Stone(?). After their marriage they lived in New London, Stratford and
Dorchester, and moved to Owen in 1944, and they retired from farming in 1951.
Mr. Liepke was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Raymond Liepke of Owen and Kenneth Liepke
of Withee; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Bauer of Waukesha and Mrs. John
(Dolores) Bacon of Owen; two brothers, Arthur and Clarence Liepke of Clinton;
and one sister, Mrs. Emma Ral(?) of Winnetka, Illinois; seven grandchildren and
eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, twelve brothers and sisters.
