Ridpath, Lawrence A. (5 Jan 1907 – 24 Jan 1978)
Lawrence A. Ridpath, age 71, R.R. #1, Curtiss, passed away about 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, January 24, 1978 in his home, after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Maurina Funeral Home
in Owen, with Father Eugene N. Stillings officiating, and burial followed in
Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Pallbearers were Dale Thompson, Brad Ridpath, Jeff Ridpath, Tom Bauer, Tony
Baier and Mark Baier.
Mr. Ridpath was born January 5, 1907 in What Cheer, Iowa. He married the former
Edith Newcomb in What Cheer on January 20, 1927. She passed away on April 26,
1972.
They farmed near Dorchester until 1938, when they moved to a farm in the town of
Hoard, where Mr. Ridpath resided since. He also worked for A.M.P.I. in
Abbotsford from 1971 to 1975.
Surviving are two sons, William of Owen, and Charles with the U.S. Air Force in
Ram Stein, Germany; one daughters, Mrs. Willard (Nina) Baier of Elmwood; two
sisters, Mrs. Curtelia Carne, Phoenix, Arizona, and Miss Zella Ridpath,
California; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by his wife on April 26, 1972, and four brothers.
