Nosko, John (17 Jan 1903 – 23 Jan 1978)
John Nosko, 75-year-old town of Maplehurst resident, died Monday, January 23,
1978 of an apparent heart attack at his home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 26, 1978 at the Hemer Funeral Home,
where committal rites were also conducted. Rev. Warren Behling officiated and
interment took place in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Nosko was born January 17, 1903 in Czechoslovakia, and was graduated from
high school there. He came to the United States at age 18, working as a meat
cutter and packer in Chicago. His marriage to Anna Krajci took place July 2,
1925 at Chicago.
After his marriage, Mr. Nosko worked for a period of time for Western Electric.
In 1931 he moved to Taylor County, settling in the town of Maplehurst, where he
farmed until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Steve, Owen, Route 2; three brothers and a
sister, all residing in Czechoslovakia, and six grandchildren.
A son, John, who died in 1940, preceded him in death.
