The City of Owen has a new business opening on Main Street as of Tuesday, May 2,
1978, and that date was the first day of business located in the former craft
shop building on the west side of Central Avenue.
The shop called “Fashion Fabrics” is owned and operated by a mother-daughter
partnership, Lucille Draeger and Marge Baumgartner.
“Fashion Fabrics: will feature a full line of yard goods, from cotton to the
denims, knits and snowmobile fabric, and all necessary accoutrements of thread,
buttons and elastic. The shop will also have the latest in T-Shirt kits, McCalls
and Kwik-Sew patterns, uniform knits, and a full line of Carter Kiddie Knits.
