A former Owen resident was among some 850 candidates for graduation at the
University of Wisconsin, Whitewater on May 13, 1978. Of the degrees awarded
almost 700 went to baccalaureate graduates, and almost 150 to Master’s
candidates. Regent President Edward Hales of Racine was speaker for the
Universities 109th spring commencement ceremonies.
