Schwanebeck, Anna (15 February 1896- 12 October 1983)

PITTSVILLE -- Services for Mrs. Paul (Anna) Schwanebeck, 87, of the Neillsville Memorial Home, formerly of 3503 Highway z, Pittsville, will be Sunday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Sherwood. Mrs. Schwanebeck died Wednesday evening at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. E.T. Keller of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Sherwood and St. John's Lutheran Church of Pittsville, will officiate. Mrs. Chester Freedlund, organist, will accompany congregational singing. Burial will be in Town of Sherwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Warren Winker, Arnold, Raymond, Lee, Dennis and Steve Schwanebeck.

Visitation will be at the Hansen Funeral Home.

The former Anna Rennhack was born February 15, 1896 in Reesville, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick (Amelia Bortz) Rennhack. She attended rural schools in Dodge County and when she was 18-years-old, moved with her parents to Clark County, where the family settled on a farm in the Town of Sherwood.

She was married to Paul Schwanebeck March 26, 1919 in the Town of Sherwood. They observed their golden wedding anniversary on March 29, 1969. After their marriage they lived for five years on his parent's farm and in 1924 purchased a 200-acre farm, which they continued to operate until retiring in 1967. Her husband died March 24, 1976 and she continued to live on the farm until entering the Neillsville Memorial Home in April 1973.

A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, Mrs. Schwanebeck is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Irma)Winker of brown Deer and Mrs. Howard (Lorraine) Jespersen of Morristown, New Jersey; two sons, Lester and Milden, both of Pittsville; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son, Theodore on August 22, four brothers and two sisters.
