The Rev. Horst Augustin officiated at the Trinity Lutheran Church services in
Spencer, Friday evening, August 14, for Linda Batterton and Leonard Reich.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Krause, RT. 2 Spencer, while the
groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Leland Reich, Rt. 1 Granton.
Special music at the service was provided by Joan Stelzel and Lou Ann Lang, and
included “Oh, Perfect Love” and “The Wedding Song.”
Chosen as matron of honor was Jane Krause, the bride’s sister-in-law from
Spencer. She was joined by Sue Kleinschmidt, the bride’s sister from Spencer,
and Ruth Strey, a friend from Owen. Best man was David Scheider of Marshfield,
who was joined by Ronald Jakobi of Granton and Tom Strey of Owen; all were
friends of the groom. Ushering were William Naedler, a friend of the couple from
Neillsville, and Wilbur and Randy Krause, the bride’s brothers of Spencer.
The bride chose an ivory-colored gown of sheer organza and Chantilly lace and
which featured long sleeves, semi-full skirt, removable lace cape and
lace-trimmed picture hat. She carried a bouquet of ivory daisies and carnations
and apricot roses. Her matron of honor wore a Nile green, knit gown while the
attendants were in apricot gowns. They carried apricot roses, light brown
daisies and morning glories. The groom was attired in a brown tuxedo with
ivory-colored shirt while his best man sported a brown tuxedo with Nile green
shirt and the groomsmen wore brown tuxedos with brown shirts.
Following the service, a reception was held at the Village Plaza in Spencer. The
couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin.
The couple will make their home in rural Granton. The bride is a 1966 graduate
of Spencer High School is employed by the oral surgery department of the
Marshfield Clinic. The groom is a 1967 graduate of Granton High and farms.
Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Jane Hefko, Bonny Zimmer and Lisa
Schnitzler and another shower hosted by Kathy Franz, Mrs. Ernst Krause, Jane
Krause, Wanda Krause, Susan Kleinschmidt and Ginger Scheider.
