Meltesen, Mildred M. (27 November 1937 – 25 May 2022)

Mildred M. Meltesen, 84, formerly of Pittsville, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Marshfield Health Services.

Mildred was born on November 27, 1937, in Bell Center. She married Richard L. Jacobson, Sr. on September 12, 1953. They divorced. She then married Lyle Meltesen and he passed away in 1976. She reunited with Richard, and he passed away on June 27, 2017. Mildred was a devoted homemaker, raising her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing and playing BINGO.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Kristal) Jacobson, Jr. of Pittsville, Tina (Allen) Bernhardt of Tomah, Terry (Randy) Gratz of Pittsville, Ken Jacobson (Sandy Frost) of Guttenberg, IA, and Scott (Tamesha) Meltesen of Pittsville. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Montag, Jennifer (Marcus Holtz) Jacobson, Jason Jacobson, Scott Bernhardt, Aaron Bernhardt, Kira (Adam) Caflisch, Alecia Nelson, Brandon Jacobson, Kalie (Ramiro) Robles, Brianna (Jared) Moore, Destiny Jacobson, Lindzy (Matt) Schultz, Lacey (Gavhin) Meltesen and Dakota Meltesen and 16 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Douglas Neeley of Evansville, WI.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Davidson, her husbands, Richard Jacobson and Lyle Meltesen, a daughter, Vicki Jacobson in infancy, a great grandson, Blaise Jacobson, a brother in infancy, James Neeley and a brother, Dennis Neeley.

Private family services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and burial in Sherwood Cemetery, both in the Town of Sherwood, Clark County, with Rev. Gary Markworth officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville is assisting the family.
