"From Apology to Protest: The Black American Novel," a book written by Noel
Schraufnagel, was published in early December by Everett Edwards, Inc. of
Deland, Florida. It is essentially a critical study of fiction written between
1940 and 1970.
The author, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel of Abbotsford, graduated from
the local high school in 1957. He received a B.A. from the University of
Wisconsin, River Falls, a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. Dr.
Schraufnagel was recently promoted to Associate Professor of English at Alcorn
A&M College, in Lorman, Mississippi.
Schraufnagel has donated a copy of his book to the Abbotsford Library.
