Emil Fitzlaff, 74, of Dorchester, died December 27, 1973 at 4:45 p.m. at Memorial Hospital in La Grange, Illinois. He had been ill for more than a year.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 30 1973 at Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home at Dorchester at 11 a.., with the Rev. Roland Golz, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery (South).
Emil Fitzlaff was born September 26, 1899 at Dorchester. He received his education at the Pleasant Hill School in the Town of Mayville. On June 10, 1925 he was married to Miss Anna Hrunek at Cicero, Illinois. She was also from Dorchester.
Fitzlaff worked over 25 years for Western Electric at Cicero, and was called a pioneer of the Western Electric Company. He also owned and operated a tree farm in the Town of Mayville, near Dorchester, since 1957, and they spent their summers here on the farm.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Rose) Jamrock of La Grange, Illinois, four grandchildren and one brother, Herman Fitzlaff of Medford.
One brother preceded him in death.
