Taplin, Russell F. (1 Mar 1908 – 24 Dec 1973)
Russell F. Taplin, 65, a former Unity resident, died at his home on Monday,
December 24, 1973. Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist
Church, Rhinelander.
Mr. Taplin was born March 1(?), 1908 in Mt. Calvary. He was a graduate of Unity
High School and Wausau Business School. On September 17, 1932 he married Ethel
VanDorn, who survives. He was employed by Wisconsin Distributing Company in
Wausau before moving to Rhinelander in 1945. In Rhinelander he worked for St.
Regis Paper Company.
Survivors, besides his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Hoffman (?),
Rhinelander, and six grandchildren.
His father, L. P. Taplin, operated the cheese factory, now owned by Harry
Mandel.
