Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kuehl of Woodruff have purchased the Uptown Bar in Colby from
Ralph Bloom. The Kuehls took over the operation of the bar on January 11, 1974.
They are moving into the upstairs apartment of the building.
Kuehl worked in the Woodruff-Minocqua area in construction work. Mrs. Kuehl was
employed at the Woodruff Hospital. Kuehl has some experience in the business,
having tended bar on a part-time basis, while the venture is new to Mrs. Kuehl.
The Kuehls have three children, Claudia (Mrs. Rick Pastor), Kenosha, David, who
is heling them at home, and Brian, a student at the University of Wisconsin, La
Crosse.
Mr. and Mrs. Bloom and family have moved to Unity, where they purchased the
former Scheer residence. Bloom has taken employment at Galvin Truck and
Equipment, Inc.
