Conner, Elizabeth Ann (15 August 1981)
Elizabeth Ann Conner and William F. Donahue were united in marriage in
midafternoon ceremonies on Saturday, August 15. The Rev. Charles Schumacher
officiated at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church at Chili. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Conner,
Rt. 1 Chili, are parents of the bride while Mr. and Mrs. Frank Donahue, Rt. 1
Neillsville, are the parents of the groom.
The bride, carrying a bouquet of pink carnations, baby’s breath and daisies, was
joined by Dixie Canfield, a cousin from Granton, as maid of honor. They were
joined by Gretchen Conner, a sister of the bride from Chili, and Laura Zahn, a
sister-in-law from Marshfield. The women wore blue formals and carried bouquets
of blue carnations, daisies and baby’s breath.
Jerry Berger, a friend of the groom, was bestman. He was joined by John and
Frank Donahue, the groom’s brothers. All were from Neillsville. Ush3eing were
Roy Friemoth, a Neillsville friend, and Jody Conner, a brother of the bride from
Augusta. The groom was attired in a white tuxedo while his attendants wore blue
suits.
Special music for the service was provided by Mrs. Wally Anderson and Lana
Elmhorst, both of Neillsville.
A reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. Prenuptial events
included a shower hosted by Dixie Canfield, Laura Zahn and Gretchen Conner.
The bride is a 1977 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and is employed as
a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The groom, a 1976
graduate of Neillsville High, farms. The couple will make their home in rural
Neillsville.
