Holt, Shelley Raye (22 August 1981)

Married on Saturday afternoon, August 22, in the Black River Falls Evangelical Lutheran Church were Shelley Raye Holt and Roy Simplot. The Rev. A. Houts officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Holt while the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Simplot, all of Black River Falls.

During the service, special music was provided by Carolyn Burge and Gail Wagner.

Angie Austin was maid of honor. She was joined the bride’s attendant ranks by Denise Eddy; Amy Holt, the bride’s sister; Sharon Wilsmann, the bride’s cousin; Pam Holcombe; and Patsy Hizer, the groom’s sister. All the women are from Black River Falls except for Wilsmann who is of Neillsville.

Best man was Scott Stenulson. He was joined by Mike and Blaine Simplot, the groom’s brothers; Robert J. Wilsmann, Jr., the bride’s cousin; Dave Holcombe and Rick Bauer. Ushering were Dan Milnthorpe and Vern Spangler. Wilsmann was from Neillsville, the rest from Black River Falls.

The bride chose a floor-length gown of Selesta knit and Venician lace with chapel train and a Juliet hat of matching lace. Her finger-tip was of illusion and lace. She carried a cascade of coral roses, carnations and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore jacketed, floor-length white gown with coral print and carried bouquets of coral roses and baby’s breath.

Following the service, a reception and dance was held at the Skyline Country Club in Black River Falls. The couple then left on a wedding trip to Canada and Maine.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Simplot make their home in Black River Falls. Both are graduates of Black River Falls High School.
