Mrs. Anna Fitzmaurice, 85, passed away in Neillsville Memorial Home on August
29.
Funeral services were held from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville on
Wednesday morning, September 2, for Anna G. Fitzmaurice. The Rev. Joseph
Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville officiated. Burial was
made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery.
The deceased was born on September 12, 1895, in Menomonie to Jacob and Anna

17, 1915, she married John D. Fitzmaurice in Menomonie ceremonies.
The couple moved to the Humbird area, where they farmed and lived in the village

in Humbird for a few years and then, approximately twelve years ago, she moved
to the Neillsville Memorial Home. She remained a resident there until her death.
Surviving her are four sons, David of Avalon, Jake and James of Neillsville and

Steies of St. Paul, Minn., and William Steies of Rockford, N.D.; plus 15
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband, by two sons, a brother and three
