Winner of the 1973-74 Betty Crocker Homemaker award at the Abbotsford High
School is Ron Schiferl..
Selection is made on the basis of tests given in December, and winters on the
local level will receive a silver charm from General Mills. Test papers will be
judged on a state level, the winner receiving a scholarship and a chance to vie
for national honors.
The promotion, started in 1954, is designed to emphasize the importance of
homemaking as a career.
Ron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Felix Schiferl, Abbotsford, is a high ranking senior at
Abbotsford High School, a star athlete in football and basketball, who enjoys
boy’s home economics. He plans to enroll at UW-Eau Claire next year.
