Tesmer, Paul A. (2 Dec 1883 – 9 Feb 1974)
Services were held Tuesday for Paul August Tesmer, 90, Colby, at Zion Lutheran
Church, Colby, with the Rev. Kenneth Loehrke officiating. Interment was in St.
Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. Tesmer died Saturday at his home in Colby, old age complications being the
cause of his death.
Born at Sturgeon Bay December 2, 1883, he came to Colby with his parents as a
young boy and worked and lived on a farm. He was married on November 6, 1912 at
St. Mary’s Rectory, Colby, to Elizabeth Orth, and they lived in Colby after
their marriage. He worked as the superintendent of the Colby Chees Box Company
for over 50 years, and retired at age 72.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, and a past member of Germaina
Lodge.
Mr. Tesmer is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Regina Davis, Wausau; a
son, Sylvester Tesmer, Colby; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren,
and a brother, Herman Tesmer, Neillsville.
Nine brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
