Kren, Thomas Scott (29 June 1962 – 7 June 2022)
Thomas Kren, age 59, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in a
tractor-semi accident south of Neillsville.
Thomas Scott Kren was born on June 29, 1962, in Neillsville, the son of Kenneth
and Lois (Bemis) Kren. He attended school in Neillsville, graduating from
Neillsville High School in 1980. He then attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical
College in Amery, and earned a degree in Dairy Herd Management. On November 28,
1981, Tom was united in marriage to Sherry Klein at St. Mary Catholic Church in
Neillsville. Together they raised four children while farming on the Kren family
farm. Tom was named a “State Farmer” in 1980. In 1990, they purchased the family
farm, and Tom and Ken farmed together until Ken’s death in 2012. Tom and Sherry
eventually divorced, and later he married Diane Wilson on August 27, 2011, at
St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenwood.
Tom was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville, WI. He was a
Knights of Columbus member and a member of the Motorhead Mafia and the Granton
Antique Tractor Club.
Tom loved his family and his hobby, besides farming, was spending time with
them. He was a wonderful, kind loving man who was always willing to lend a hand
to anyone in need. He loved attending auctions and he enjoyed classic cars.
Tom is survived by his wife, Diane, five children, Michael (Ashley) Kren of Eau
Claire, Matthew (Tiffany) Kren of Eau Claire, Adam (Mindy) Kren of Neillsville,
Deacon Alex Kren of Neillsville, and Ben (Leah) Wilson of Granton. He is further
survived by eight grandchildren, Jasmine Kren, Clayton and Keenan Kren, Kennedy,
Kayson and Reagan Kren and Brennan and Lylah Wilson, his mother, Lois Kren of
Neillsville, a brother, Tim (Tammy) Kren of Osseo, his ex-wife, Sherry (Tim)
Hickey of Neillsville, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Kren, his father, Kenneth and a
sister, Sandy Reed.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tom will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 10,
2022, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Fr. Greg
Michaud. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be
from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., Friday at the catholic church.
