Mess, Derek R. (21 February 1982 – 20 May 2022)

Derek R. Mess, 40, of Nekoosa passed away Friday, May 20, 2022.

Derek was born on February 21, 1982, to Glenn Mess and Judy Bores in Marshfield. He graduated from Spencer High School in 2000. After high school Derek worked as a welder at A&B Process Systems, CFR, and for his uncle at R&R Stainless for many years in addition to other positions.

Derek loved all things nature: including deer hunting, fishing, and shed hunting. He loved being Up North with his family. He was also an amazing artist, both drawing and tattooing. He loved cooking and had a huge heart and enjoyed helping others.

Derek is survived by his parents Glenn Mess (Bobby Nollenberg) and Judy Bores (Rick Radtke). He is also survived by his 3 beautiful children: Kaylee Mess, Hunter Mess, and Ryker Mess; Grandchildren, Cali and Phoenix Mess; Paternal Grandmother Jean Mess; Sister Angela Mess; 2 nieces, 1 nephew and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, friends, and the mother of his children Lisa Gurney. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Annette and Raymond Bores, George "Diddy" Mess, and Great-Grandparents; and Uncle Joseph Scheppler.
