Knoop, Yvonne K. (29 August 1981)

To make their home in Lubbock, Texas, are the new Mr. and Mrs. Duane Zais.

Yvonne K. Knoop of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and Duane W. Zais of Lubbock, Texas were married on Saturday afternoon, August 26, in services at the Marie Louise Chapel of Christie. The Rev. Gary Clark of the Neillsville United Church of Christ officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knoop, Rt. 3, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zais, 321 Garfield, Stanley.

Presenting special music for the service were Corrine Armitage and Rita Stewart.

Denice Schroeder of Eau Claire was the maid of honor. She was joined by Barbara Boyer of Neillsville; Stephanie Knoop was flower girl. Bestman was Paul Wergedal of Chippewa Falls. He was joined by Mark Simenson of Stevens Point; Kevin Zais of Marshfield was usher.

The bride chose a Victorian-style gown of silk organza and Chantilly lace, trimmed in seed pearls. Her veil was of matching lace and her Juliet cap had seed pearls. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, blue cornflowers and baby’s breath. Her attendants wore light blue dresses with sheer floral blouson tops. They carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.

Following the service, a reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall, which was followed by a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom. The couple then left on a wedding trip to Colorado.

The bride, a 1974 graduate of Neillsville High School and later from District I Technical Institute-Eau Claire, was employed by the Neillsville Bank. The groom, a 1974 graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School and later from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute- La Crosse, is the chief EEG technician at Texas Tech University’s Hospital and School of Medicine in Lubbock.
