Griep, Vida M. (29 December 1893 – 14 September 1981)
Vida M. Griep, 87, a former Neillsville resident, died on Monday, September 14,
in a Beloit hospital after a long illness.
The deceased was born on December 29, 1893, in Sullivan, Illinois, to John and
Lucinda (Bagot) Musgrove. On December 30, 1911, she married Tom Gard. She then
moved to Neillsville. On May 23, 1955, she married Fred Griep in Neillsville
ceremonies and the couple moved to Beloit; he died in 1980. She was a member of
Trinity Lutheran Church in Beloit.
Survivors include two sons, Claude R. Gard of Beloit and John S. Gard of Klamath
Falls, Oregon; one daughter, Gail McCaullaugh, Janesville; two stepsons, Elmer
and Dale Griep, both of Beloit; two stepdaughters, Doreen Gard and Joyce Monroe,
both of Beloit; 31 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by three daughters, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from Beloit’s Trinity Lutheran
Church with the Rev. Stradtman officiating. Burial was made in Beloit.
