About 300 students from 23 area high schools competed in North Central Technical
Institute's fifth annual Super Bowl of Business Skills in Wausau Thursday,
February 28, 1974.
Trophies were awarded to the top four contestants in each of seven categories:
beginning and advanced typing, beginning and advanced shorthand, bookkeeping,
spelling, and business math.
Local students winning honor were Mary Theilig, advanced shorthand, second, and
Carol Drier, bookkeeping, fourth.
The local group was accompanied by faculty adviser Mrs. Martin Haavisto.
The Super Bowl of Business Skills is sponsored annually by NCTI's chapter of the
Wisconsin Office Education Association as a community service project. It's
purpose is to increase student interest and recognize student accomplishment in
the office education field at the high school level.
