Miss Kay Seidel, 10 year old Dorchester girl, recovering from recent brain surgery, has received around 12,00 piece of mail in the past two weeks.  Kay's tutor, Mrs. Frank Bohte, a retired school teacher, wrote a letter to the Enquirer, a Florida paper.  The paper recently carried the story of Kay's illness and the fact that she likes to receive mail, and the post office at Dorchester became a busy place.

Kay is a happy girl today, and she and her mother, Mrs. Donald Seidel, are very busy opening mail.  Late week she received about 1,500 pieces of mail on Monday alone.

Kay has received mail from nearly every state in the union, much mail from Canada, mail from Europe and West Indies, and a special delivery letter from the Bahamas last week Monday.  Students in classrooms across the country have drawn picture to send her, and Mrs. Seidel said Kay has received around 2,000 gifts from well-wishers everywhere.  Prisoners in different institutions around the country have also written to Kay, many of them writing poems for her.
