Neuhaus, Herbert (16 Sep 1904 – 22 Mar 1974)
Funeral services were held Monday, March 25, 1974 at 1:30 p.m. at First United
Church of Christ at Colby for Herbert Neuhaus, Abbotsford. Rev. Kenneth Dix
officiated at the rite and interment was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Neuhaus died Friday, March 22, 1974 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield,
after a lingering illness.
He was born on September 16, 1904 at Newton, and received his education at the
Sandhill School. He was married to the former Malinda Vollmar at Curtiss in
1934. After their marriage they farmed in the town of Colby for 12 years, after
which they moved to Abbotsford. They had lived in Abbotsford for the past 25
years, during which time Mr. Neuhaus worked for Johnson Silo and Block Company,
Colby for nine years, and he also worked for Streckert Manufacturing Company,
Inc., Abbotsford, for six years. He was a member of the First United Church of
Christ, and of the local skat club.
He is survived by his wife; two brothers, Richard Neuhaus of Lake Geneva, and
Paul Neuhaus of Arkansas, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Ella)
Baumgartner, Colby, and Mrs. Edwin (Hulda) Strade, Abbotsford.
Five brothers and six sisters preceded him in death.
