Gilbert Arnold Strelow took as his bride Carol Jean Koedtke in a candlelight
services performed by Rev. Kenneth Loehrke at 7:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran
Church, Abbotsford, on Saturday, March 23, 1974. Marvin Ewan was soloist,
accompanied by Mrs. Orville Barkow at the organ.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Peter Annast, Abbotsford, and the groom’s
parents are Rev. and Mrs. J. L. Strelow, Jackson, Missouri.
The bride was seen in a gown of merri-mist crystal chiffon and Chantilly lace,
featuring a princess A-line skirt with lace panel around flared flounce, fitted
sleeves, high neckline and ruffled yoke. She wore a cathedral lace-edged
mantilla veil and carried a trailing bouquet of red roses and pink carnations.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schmidt of Athens, the former a
cousin of the bride.
Mrs. Schmidt wore a moss green georgette gown with bishop sleeves, V-neckline
with self-ruffled, edged collar and slightly gathered skirt. She wore a waist
length veil and carried a mixed bouquet or red roses, pink carnations and white
pompons.
Guests were served dinner at the church hall, a reception following at the
Abbotsford City Hall.
Miss Wendy Rietz of Medford was in charge of the guest book.
After a wedding trip to San Francisco, California, the couple will reside in
Minneapolis.
