Dommer, Judith Ann (23 Mar 1974)

Zion Lutheran Church at Colby was the setting for the exchange of wedding vows, as Alan Gen Stehlik claimed Judith Ann Dommer as his bride on Saturday, March 23, 1974. Rev. Roland Golz, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Dorchester, officiated at the 7:30 p.m. wedding ceremony.

Two altar containers held white and blue flowers. Song sung during the ceremony were “The Wedding Song” and “Today.”

Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Delphin Dommer, Route 1, Colby, and Mr. and Mrs. George Stehlik, Kenosha.

The bride appeared in a white empire styled gown featuring long puff sleeves, a high neckline and ruffle on the bodice and a double ruffle around the bottom of the skirt. She wore a long chapel veil and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations, pink roses and baby’s breath.

Miss Susan Gertsner, Lake Mills, served her friend as maid of honor. Miss Debra Dommer, sister of the bride, was bridesmaids.

They wore long royal blue princess style dresses with off-white trim. White and blue carnations and baby’s breath were used in their colonial bouquets.

David and Dennis Dommer ushered guests at the church.

A reception, buffet supper and dance were held at the Hotel Colby with 100 guests from Kenosha, Lake Mills, La Crosse, Wisconsin Rapids, Appleton, Milwaukee and the Colby and Unity area attending.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and the Fox Valley Tech School at Appleton. She is employed as a clerk at Sunnyside Florists at Kenosha.

A Tremper High School graduate, the groom also attended Fox Valley Tech at Appleton for a year, and is employed as an inspector at American Motors Corporation.
