Orheim, Sharon Kae (28 April 1939 – 23 June 2022)
Sharon K. Orheim, 83, of Thorp, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at House
of the Dove in Marshfield.
Sharon Kae Jenness was born on April 28, 1939, in Ladysmith, to Elwood L. and
Elinor (Radiker) Jenness. She was raised and received her education in Thorp,
graduating from Thorp High School in 1957. After high school, Sharon was united
in marriage to Alfred G. "Fritz" Orheim on June 8, 1957, in Ingram. They resided
in Sheldon and Ingram, before finally returning to Thorp in 1967. She was a
waitress at the Dairy Bar for several years, and then worked for Dr. Melcher and
Dr. Sprague in the Optometry office for more than 30 years. She retired in 2009.
In her spare time, Sharon loved being with her grandchildren and great
grandchildren, crocheting, plants, especially her African Violets, her trips to
the casino, the Wednesday night card club, her trips with her sisters, and lunch
with the "Lunch Ladies."
She will be dearly missed by her six daughters: Cheryl (Scott) Strohkirch of
Owen, Becky (Mark) Serocki of Thorp, Linda (Patrick) Duffy of Panama City Beach,
FL, Deborah Van Ert of Chippewa Falls, Amanda (Jeff) McLain of Mission Viejo,
CA, and Laurie (Gary) Losiewicz of Thorp; 12 grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters: Nancy Hmielak of Thorp and
Pam (Paul) Larson of Altoona; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred, on August 22,
1998; one son, Jeffrey W. Orheim on November 12, 1973; and one brother: Arlin
Jenness on October 20, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, in East
Thorp Cemetery, with Rev. Leo Johnson officiating. A Celebration of Life will
follow for Sharon at Cindy's, in Thorp, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
