Schwartz, Ida S. (29 Sep 1883 – 26 Apr 1974)
Services for Mrs. Ida S. Schwartz, 90, were held at the Polnaszek Funeral Home,
Abbotsford, at 2 p.m. Monday, April 29, 1974. Mr. Erling Omdal and Mr. Murray
Keene officiated. Burial was made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery (South).
Mrs. Maydell Brockhaus was organist at the service.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Carlson, Harold Brockhaus, Mike Wepfer, Wilbur
Stockwell, Raymond Kleinstick and Lavern Marcott.
Mrs. Schwarz, the former Ida Selma Wolf, was born September 29, 1883 in the town
of Mayville, Clark County. She received her education at Dorchester. Her
marriage to John Anton Schwarz took place October 29, 1907 at Dorchester. The
couple farmed in the town of Little Black, Taylor County until 1942, when they
moved to Colby. Mr. Schwartz died in 1961.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arvid (Clara) Johnson, Abbotsford, Miss
Selma Schwartz, Colby, Mrs. Adolph (Anna) Behnke, Cecil; two sons, Harvey,
Glenwood City, and Elmer, Lodi, California; 15 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Anton (Ella) Boxrucker, Owen.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband, were two children, five brothers
and five sisters.
