Senn, Charles George (1 June 1926 – 3 October 1981)

A long-time Thorp area attorney, Charles George Senn, passed away in Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, this past Saturday, October 3. Senn was 55 at the time of his death. He had suffered from a long ailment for many years.

Funeral services were held from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp on Tuesday morning.

Senn was born on June 1, 1926, in La Crosse to Henry and Katherine (Vach) Senn. He was a graduate of the UW-Madison Law School. On September 12, 1953, he married Jeanette Neumann in Racine ceremonies. The couple then moved to Thorp, where he practiced law for 25 years.

Senn was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, American Legion (Navy veteran), Wisconsin Bar Association and the Clark County Bar Association. He was also a member of St. Bernard’s parish.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are six sons, Charles of Thorp, Greg of Platteville, Girard of Madison, Roderic of Stanley, James of St. Francis and Michael at Wausau; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Ruth) Stetter and Mrs. Robert (Irene) Sieber, both of La Crosse; four brothers, Mathew and Donald of La Crosse, George of Fond du Lac and James of Lexington Park, Maryland; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Lawrence.
