Graffunder, Bennie (12 Feb 1906 – 21 May 1974)
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church
in Dorchester for Bennie J. Graffunder, Rt. 1, Abbotsford, who died at 5:55 a.m.
Tuesday, May 21, 1974 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield at the age of 68.
Rv. Rolland Golz will officiate at the services and at the burial, which will be
made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery (South). Visitation will be held at
Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford after 12 noon on Friday.
Mr. Graffunder was born February 12, 1906 in the town of Holton, Marathon
County. He received his education in the Rosedale School. On May 27, 1925 he was
married to Lydia C. Schauer at the Green Grove Church. They farmed in the town
of Holton.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where he hled a church office
and was a trustee and elder.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Leonard of Marshfield and
Eugene of rural Abbotsford; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Arlene) Neuenfeldt of
Dorchester; a brother, Gayhart Graffunder of Medford; a sister, Helen Dake of
Athens; two half-brothers, John Reynolds of Illinois, and Fred Reynolds of
Dorchester; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and three brothers.
