Taliaferro, Mary Hunter (3 October 1981)
Mary Hunter Taliaferro and Leon Kaczor were united in marriage on Saturday
afternoon, October 3, at the Neillsville United Church of Christ. The Rev. Gary
Clark officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay C. Taliaferro,
Jr., Rt. 2 Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kaczor, Rt. 1 Neillsville.
“Evergreen” and “The Wedding March” were the special musical offerings performed
at the ceremony.
Patricia Bertz, a friend of the bride from Mondovi, served as maid of honor. She
was joined by Debbie Sebesta, a Neillsville friend; Mary Belling, a Madison
friend; Alice Wood, sister of the groom from Syracuse, N.Y.; and Sue Schomburg,
a friend from Minneapolis.
Gene Gostomski, Milwaukee, was bestman. He was joined by Rick Sebesta of
Neillsville, John Gutnecht of Virginia, Mn., and Mark Button and Bill Staszak
both of Hatfield.
Following the service, a reception was held at the fairgrounds pavilion in
Neillsville. The couple then left on a Canadian wedding trip. They will make
their home at rural Neillsville.
The bride chose a chiffon gown with V-neckline and fitted bodice trimmed with
pearled, re-embroidered Chantilly lace. The gown also had full bishop sleeves
and full skirt extending into a chapel-length train. Her Juliet-style cap was
trimmed with matching Chantilly lace and carried a fingertip-length veil. She
carried white roses.
Her attendants wore gowns of yellow Selesta chiffon in a sun dress style and
featured blouson bodices, pleated skirts and jackets.
