Matteson Family Receives Blue Star Banner (2022)
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 73 in Neillsville, which has both Neillsville
and Granton members, recently presented the Matteson family of Granton with a
“Blue Star Service Banner.” It’s an American tradition to display a Blue Star
Service Banner in the window of a home when a loved one is proudly serving in
the U.S. Armed Forces. The Blue Star Service Banner is a reminder that war
touches every neighborhood. Terek Matteson, the son of John and Jackie, is
stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. “We were excited to have Terek
home for his presentation,” wrote Unit 73 President Sue Wells in an email. Shown
are (l-r) Lucas and Morgan Matteson, Wells, and John, Jackie, Terek and Rachael
Matteson. American Legion Auxiliary District Second Vice President Jesse
Elmhorst was also on hand for the presentation.
