Lawniczak, Janet (18 November 1955 – 2 July 2022)
Janet Lawniczak, age 66, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, after a long
battle against cancer.
She was born November 18, 1955, to Clarence and Alveria Uerling of Colby, WI.
Janet graduated from Colby High School in 1974. She joined the United States
Army where she worked as a Military Police Officer. She also worked for a
hospital in Green Bay, from which she retired.
She was proud to be a mom and to raise her daughters.
Janet enjoyed long walks on trails; was dedicated to beautifying the
neighborhood around her home in Green Bay and making sure garbage was picked up.
She volunteered in multiple political campaigns. Janet also enjoyed doing home
improvement projects and liked experimenting with different things to see if it
would work out or not.
She is survived by her daughters: Mandy (David) Lawniczak and Mindy (Jim)
Lawniczak; her brothers and sisters: Pete (Theresa) Uerling, Jim Uerling, Mae
(Leroy) Mattison, Pat (Bill) Meyers, Rose Uerling, Jenny (Brian) Shannon and
Russell (Christine) Uerling; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Uerling and Karen
Uerling; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Alveria Uerling; her
brothers and sisters: William Uerling, Ray Uerling, Don Uerling, Erv Uerling,
June Uerling, Jack Uerling and Tom Uerling. She was also preceded by her
daughter’s dad, Wayne Lawniczak.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at
St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Lunch to follow at the Colby VFW Post #2227.
