Derge, Carol J. ( 17 December 1933 – 3 July 2022)
Carol J. Derge, 88, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Well
Nature View Assisted Living, from pulmonary complications.
Carol was born on December 17, 1933, in Neillsville, to Ernest and Fala (Kalsow)
Gloff. She was a 1951 graduate of West Division High School in Milwaukee. She
was united in marriage to John F. Derge on June 1, 1974, in Marshfield. He died
on July 2, 2000.
As a young lady, Carol worked at Aetna Surety in Milwaukee. After moving to
Marshfield, she was employed at Roddis Plywood Corporation which later became
Weyerhaeuser, until her retirement after 40 years of service. Carol was an avid
Wisconsin sports fan. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, sewing, quilting, cake
decorating and traveling with her sister and brother-in-law. In her retirement
years she looked forward to meeting friends at McDonald’s for coffee.
She is survived by her sister, Lolita Nickel of Nekoosa and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and brother-in-law, Donald
Nickel.
A Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Rembs
Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until
service time. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wells Nature View Assisted Living for
their kind and loving care. Memorials may be designated to Christ Lutheran
