Woods, (10 April 1933 – 13 July 2022)

Yvonne R. Woods, 89, of Thorp, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at House of the Dove in Marshfield, surrounded by her loving family as she was welcomed into Jesus’ warm embrace.

Yvonne Romelle Jenness was born on April 10, 1933, in Ladysmith, the daughter of Levi and Seeta (Redwine) Jenness. She was raised and received her education in the Ladysmith area. Yvonne was united in marriage to Raymond D. Woods on November 17, 1949, in Ladysmith.

She was a proud, warm, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Family, heritage, and faith were the cornerstones of her life. With a cup of coffee at hand and chairs pulled up to the kitchen table, she passed along the stories that knit our family together, and filled our cups, bellies, and hearts with love and faith. She was beautiful, exceptionally smart, and a strong matriarch one can only hope to emulate.

Yvonne is survived by her children: Diane (John) Zagozen of Greenwood, Duane (Kathy) Woods of Thorp, Bradley (Laurie) Woods of Stoughton; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law: Nancy Woods of Neillsville, and Karen Woods of Menomonie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Raymond D. Woods; her sons: Donald Woods and Tom Woods; and siblings: Elwood, John, Bob, and Tom Jenness, and Patricia Salter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Stanley. Pastor Matt Miklasz will officiate, and burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery in Thorp. Visitation will be held at the church, on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
