Denise Loucks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Loucks, Abbotsford, was
graduated Magna Cum Laude from Carroll College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Instrumental Music Education on on May 19, 1974. Her parents are and brother
Russell took part in the weekend activities by attending the senior banquet,
baccalaureate service, and commencement ceremony.
During her last semester at Carroll College Miss Loucks was chosen to receive
the “Outstanding Band Member of the Year” award. As a culmination of her study
with Russell Dagon, first clarinetist for the Milwaukee Symphony, she presented
her senior recital on clarinet, which included a piece she composed. She also
directed Waukesha High School’s 130 - piece ninth grade band in their spring
concert, concluding her semester of student teaching within that school system
under the supervision of Michael E. Poytinger.
Miss Loucks plans to be married this summer, after which she will pursue her
career as an instrumental music educator.
