An apparent bake failure was listed as the cause of an accident in Hull
Township, Marathon County, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. two and one-half miles
south of County Trunk N.
Gerald J. Pflanzer, 28, Rt. 1, Colby, sustained a fracture skull, two fractured
vertebrae and a laceration to the left shoulder when his car sideswiped a
backhoe, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department.
Tom Marcon, Rt. 1, Athens, driver of the backhoe owned by Michels Construction
Company, apparently was not injured.
Deputy Litwin of the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department, was the investigating
officer.
