Miss Mae Uerling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Uerling, Route 2, Colby,
became the bride of Leroy H. Mattison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hammond Matteson,
Ashland, in a ceremony performed by Rev. Max Folan, Wausau, on Saturday, July 6,
1974 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents. Daisies and yellow, blue
and white streamers decorated the home.
The bride appeared in a gown of cotton lace with a taffeta lining, featuring a
high ruffled neckline and fitted midriff. Her short veil was held by a seed
pearl headpiece.
Attending the bride were Miss Patricia Uerling, maid of honor, and Miss Rose
Uerling and Miss Janet Uerling, bridesmaids, all sisters of the bride.
The bride’s attendants were attired in gold gowns with embossed daisies over
taffeta lining.
Attending the groom as best man, was George Moquin, Phillips, and John Uerling
and Thomas Uerling, Colby, were groomsmen.
A reception and dance followed the ceremony, and were held at the Sword, Colby.
The groom attended South Division High School until 1968. He is employed as a
semi-truck driver by Mortenson Brothers at Aniwa. The bride is a 1070 graduate
of Colby High School and NCTI in 1971. She is employed at Girillis Super-Valu at
Wausau. The couple will make their first home at 3810 W. Sherman Road, Wausau.
Guests at the wedding from away were Mr. and Mrs. George Heckel, Marshfield, Mr.
and Mrs. James Uerling, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Uerling, Arpin, Mr. and
Mrs. David Beste, Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. George Moquin, Phillips, Mr. and Mrs.
Hammond Mattison, Ashland, and Ann Sears, Phillips.
