Gutenberger, Milton (6 Nov 1905 – 29 May 1974)
Funeral services were held at Cross Lutheran Church, Burlington, on Friday, May
31, 1974, for Milton R. Gutenberger, 68, former Colby resident, who died at St.
Mary’s Hospital, Racine on May 29, 1974. The Rev. Stan Hanna officiated at the
11 a.m. service, and interment was made in Burlington Cemetery. Arrangements
were made by Schuette Worth Daniels, Racine.
Mr. Gutenberger was born November 6, 1905 in Manitowoc County. He spent his
early life at Colby, where he also received his education. His marriage to Elsa
Shalek took place May 25, 1946, at Burlington, where he had resided since 1943.
He was a retired fireman of Burlington Brass Works and a member of Cross
Lutheran Church at Burlington.
His wife preceded him in death on November 15, 1975, and two brothers and a
sister also preceded him in death.
He is survived by a brother, Elroy Gutenberger, Colby, and nieces and nephews.
