Pokallus, Paul H. (30 Jul 1889 – 22 Jul 1974)
Paul H. Pokallus, 84, Colby died Tuesday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital,
Marshfield, of old age complications.
Services will be held Friday, July 26, 1974 at Zion Lutheran Church at 1:30
p.m., with the Rev. Robin C. Fink officiating. Burial will be in the Colby
Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Lulloff
Funeral Home.
Mr. Pokallus was born July 30, 1889 at Colby, and was married to Marie Pechstein
November 18, 1914 at Medford.
He worked for the railroad for 19 years before farming in the Stetsonville area
for 10 years, when he moved to Colby and farmed there for ten years. He was a
Raleigh products dealer for 19 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Clarence Pokallus, Abbotsford, and
one grandchild.
Four sisters also survive: Mrs. Rose Kobs, Chicago, Mrs. Ruth Lagerquist,
Chicago, Mrs. Lawrence (Evelyn) Preim, Colby, and Mrs. Theresa Nagel, Colby, and
a brother, Henry Pokallus, Hesperia, California.
A son, Harvey, and one sister and three brothers preceded him in death. He was a
member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
