Wisconsin Gas Company will build a new construction and service center in Owen
according to Harold (ete) LeGrand, Marshfield District Manager for the utility.
The Owen operations center will provide construction and Appliance maintenance
service, bill paying and customer service facilities and emergency service for
3,300 customer in 15 communities in the northwest portion of the company’s
Marshfield service area.
Planned is a one story, “L” shaped building near the intersection of Country
Truck highways X and DD in Owen. He site is opposite the Owen-Withee High
School.
The new Owen center will replace a Wisconsin Gas office in Stanley. The company
said the Owen location is more centrally located for the communities to be
served. It will allow easier access for a greater number of customers and
enhance efficiency in company operation.
In addition to Owen, communities served are: Abbotsford, Athens, Boyd, Cadott,
Colby, Curtiss, Dorchester, Medford, Milan, Stanley, Stetsonville, Thorp, Unity
and Withee.
Wisconsin Gas is the largest natural gas distributor in the state, serving more
than 368,000 customers in 42 counties.
