“Old Streets of Greenwood” Museum (Renovation – 26 July 2022)
The Greenwood community celebrated the improved Branstiter “Old Streets of
Greenwood” Museum with a ribbon-cutting July 26. The museum’s exterior was
completely redone in spring 2020, with a new roof, new siding and doors, and
five “windows” put in, depicting scenes from of old Greenwood businesses.
Although the renovations were completed in 2020, COVID delayed the museum
reopening and ribbon cutting. Don Branstiter started the museum in 1991 after
collecting antiques and old machines for many years. Marilyn (Branstiter)
Rastall, Don’s sister, was present at the ceremony. “This would make my brother
very, very proud, to see all the things that have been done,” she said. “I’m so
happy that the community has embraced it.” Shown are (l-r) museum committee
members, Jeff Block, Steve Hemmersbach and Kay Landini; Clark County economic
Development Corporation (CCEDC) president Pete Kaz, museum committee
chairperson, Pat Lindner, CCEDC member Dave Williams, museum committee member
Diane Wildish, Rastall and Greenwood Mayor Dave Hansen.
