When Colby native Don Primeau graduated from La Crosse State College, it was
pretty well understood he would be a high school teacher.
But Primeau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin F. Primeau, Abbotsford, changed his mind.
Now in his 21st years as a naval aviator, he is the executive officer of one of
the largest, most sophisticated warships to sail the oceans, the attack Aircraft
Carrier USS Forrestal.
Primeau’s parents live in Abbotsford, retired from dairy farming. His wife, Mary
Jane, formerly of Pittsburg, and two boys, Stephen, 14, and John, 13?, live near
Washington, D.C. They often follow Forrestal through the Mediterranean in the
summer. Their latest jaunt was during June at Palma de Majorca, in the Spanish
Billerica Islands, while the ship was anchored there for two weeks.
