Vine, Margaret A. (6 January 1900 – 23 January 1992)
Margaret A. Vine, 92, of Neillsville, died on Thursday, January 23, 1992, at
12:30 a.m. at Memorial Home.
Services were held Monday, January 27, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of
Christ. Reverend Gene Lackore officiated. Music was provided by accompanist
Eileen Zank. Burial was in the Town of Grant cemetery. Family and friends served
as pallbearers.
Margaret Vine was born on January 6, 1900, to August and Elvira (Ayers) Roder in
the Town of Grant. She was educated in the Roder school in the Town of Grant and
at Neillsville High School. She also attended a year of Teachers' Training at
Neillsville, graduating in 1918. She then taught at the Reed School for two
years.
On June 30, 1920, she married Ernest Vine in the Town of Grant. She and her
husband farmed in the Town of Grant until their retirement in 1965, when they
moved to Neillsville. He died in April 1977.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, the U.C.C. Sewing Circle, the
American Legion Auxiliary and Clark County Homemakers.
She is survived by a son, Gordon E. Vine of Granton; two sisters, Mrs. Lynn
(Ruth) Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids and Mrs. Alice Barron of Elgin, IL; five
grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
