A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on July 18 at the new Mack School museum
building constructed in recent months at the Loyal Area Historical Society site
on East Elm Drive in Loyal. Members of the Historical Society, Chamber of
Commerce and other organizations were present, as were several community members
who donated time and/or materials to the building project. The Mack School is
thought to be the first one built in the Loyal area, and the museum’s front is
adorned with a sign from the building after it was rebuilt in 1922 following a
fire. The interior of the museum is filled with various pieces of memorabilia
from local schools that have been collected by the Historical Society over the
years.
