Sternitzky, Joyce Irene (7 May 1947 – 12 August 2022)

Joyce Sternitzky, age 75, of Granton, died Friday, August 12, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce Irene Dahl was born on May 7, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Lindekugel) Dahl. She was baptized on June 8, 1947, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton and later confirmed there on March 26, 1961. On August 18, 1973, she was united in marriage to Gary Arnold Sternitzky by Reverend Roland Roehrs at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Joyce and Gary farmed their whole lives in the township of Lynn. Gary and Joyce also ran a Christmas Shop together, where they sold Christmas trees and ornaments that were handmade by Joyce.

Joyce was a life-long member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. She adored Elvis and loved going to “Elvis impersonator” shows with her family. She also loved to watch cardinals, garden, work on puzzles and read for hours on end. Her greatest love, though, was her family. She loved her family first and foremost, and she loved spending time with all of them.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, three children, Liza Sternitzky, Jon (Heather) Sternitzky and Sara (Umesh) Bhayaraju, three grandchildren, Riley and Aydin Sternitzky and Saatvik Bhayaraju, a sister, Joann (Milton) Haskins and a brother, Arthur Dahl Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marie Dahl Sr. and a son-in-law, Greg Wichelman.

Funeral Services for Joyce will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 18, 2022, which would have been Joyce and Gary’s 49th wedding anniversary, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton, WI. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Riley and Aydin Sternitzky, Arthur Dahl Jr., Gary Dahl and Umesh Bhayaraju.
