Harlin, Carl (13 September 1906 – 1 January 1982)
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, January 5, for Carl Harlin, 75,
of Rt. 1 Granton. Mr. Harlin passed away on Saturday afternoon at his home,
suffering an apparent heart attack while plowing snow.
The deceased was born on September 13, 1906, in Germany. He moved to the U.S. in
1923. On June 9, 1928, he married Selma Retta in Granton ceremonies. The couple
lived in Milwaukee until 1944 and then moved back to the Town of York.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Emily) West, Chicago; a
son, Richard Harlin, Neillsville; a sister, Anna Bauerle, Germany; a brother,
Otto, New Berlin; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant
daughter and one brother.
The Rev. Maynard Stokka of Granton’s Zion Lutheran Church officiated. Burial was
in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Gilbertson Funeral
Home, Granton. Mrs. Roger Helm served as organist for the services.
