Lamont, Darlene M. (14 December 1933 – 20 August 2022)

Darlene M. Lamont, age 88, of Abbotsford, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Colonial Center in Colby under the tender care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care.

Darlene was born on December 14, 1933, the daughter of Walter and Norma (Ryder) Grambort in Abbotsford. She graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1951. On May 4, 1963, Darlene was united in marriage to James Lamont. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2010.

Darlene worked with her husband as bookkeeper for their business, Lamont’s Service. She also worked as a secretary for Christensen Sales and Braun Livestock. She enjoyed gardening and watching the Packers and Badgers. Most importantly, Darlene loved and cherished her family.

Darlene is survived by her four children: Patricia (Douglas) Klemm of Medford, Mary Smola of Medford, James Lamont II of Abbotsford and John (Eve) Lamont of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren: Blake Smola of Owatonna, MN, Brooke (Curtis) Viegut of Medford, Trent Klemm of Withee, Jenna (Jack) Schafer of Medford, Kobe Lamont, Finley Lamont and Noah Lamont all of Lakeland, FL; two great-grandchildren: Cruz and Auden Viegut both of Medford. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Kremsreiter; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; three brothers, Gerald Grambort, James (Pat) Grambort and Ronald “Stub” (Kitty) Grambort .

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Colby. Pastor Don Everhard will officiate. A Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the family are preferred in lieu of flowers.
