Plummer, Boyd B. (19 April 1943 – 13 August 2022)
Boyd B. Plummer, age 79, of Owen, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at
the Marshfield Medical Center.
Boyd was born on April 29, 1943, the son of Byron F. and Deveda I. (Galgusch)
Plummer in Menomonie. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1961 and
enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 24, 1960, and was honorably discharged on
August 10, 1962.
Boyd was united in marriage to Sandra Neitzel on June 3, 1967, at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Unity. Boyd worked at Weyerhaeuser in Marshfield for a few
years before becoming a police officer for the Marshfield Police Department. He
then moved to Unity, and was employed as manager for Meigs Asphalt in
Abbotsford, for many years, retiring in 2003 and moving to Longwood.
He loved to go for a drive in his 1973 Corvette and was president of the Tri
County Car Club. Boyd enjoyed flying, taking care of horses and hunting.
Boyd is survived by his wife: Sandra of Owen, sister: Sandra Post of Marshfield,
sister-in-law: Beverly Utke, brother-in-law: Rodney Neitzel, nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Charles Plummer, sister:
Karey Kolbo, nephew: Jimmie Fay and great-nephews: Derek Post Sr. and Gabriel
Prekezes.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
