Betty Liechty and Walter Arends were united in marriage with the Rev. R. P. Dunn of St. Henry’s Catholic Church performing the 111 a.m. double ring ceremony July 12, 1974. The parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. John Liechty Sr., Watertown, and Mrs. Anna Arends, Colby.

Mrs. Donald Dearth was matron of honor. Donald Dearth served as best man.

The bride is a graduate of Hustisford High School. The groom graduated from Colby High School and served four years with the Navy. He is self-employed.

The couple will take a wedding trip to Florida in late fall.
